Dianne Austin is the co-founder and CEO of the startup, Coils to Locs, a direct to hospital and direct to consumer distributor of beautiful, high-quality coily, curly synthetic wigs for Black women or any woman with highly textured hair experiencing medical or non-medical hair loss, or any woman who just loves wearing wigs! Coils to Locs has been featured on The Jennifer Hudson Show, The Today Show, Forbes, People, Elle, People among other media outlets. Coils to Locs is more than a brand… it’s a movement. A blue ocean product in the medical hair loss space, Coils to Locs is at the forefront of disrupting an unrecognized disparity at hospital cancer centers and medical hair loss salons which disproportionately impacts Black women experiencing chemotherapy-related or other forms of medical hair loss interested in culturally sensitive wig options: The lack of coily, curly wigs that are available at hospitals in the U.S. that can be purchased with health insurance reimbursement. Dianne is a breast cancer survivor and thriver and diversity and inclusion expert turned community engager and entrepreneur.

Kim Roxie, Founder and CEO of LAMIK Beauty, has celebrated the beauty of all women since becoming an entrepreneur in the beauty industry in 2004. With her degree from Clark Atlanta University and executive leadership certification from the Tuck School of Business, Kim's background sets the foundation for her success. She also earned her aestheticism license from Houston Community College, before becoming a top-brow and makeup artist in Houston. Kim’s dedication to infusing inclusivity into the beauty industry spans decades. In 2020, LAMIK launched as an e-commerce brand with its bestselling hero product, the Revelation Brow Duo. This milestone secured a game-changing deal with Ulta Beauty, HSN, and JC Penney. While maintaining focus on her mission, Kim has received noteworthy recognition including joining the Tory Burch Fellowship, Houston Business Journal's "40 under 40" recognition, the 2021 Texas Women's Foundation Young Leaders Award, the 2023 Icon Award at the Power Networking Conference, and being honored as a Role Model title at the Greater Houston Womens Chamber of Commerce Women in the Fast Lane of STEAM Luncheon and Style Show. In 2023, LAMIK received a Vendor Excellence Award nomination in the "Guest Excellence" category from HSN and was awarded the "Buy from a Black Women Beauty Company of the Year” Award. Alongside her achievements, Kim places a high priority on giving back. In 2014, she became the chair of the African American Initiative for The Rose Foundation in Houston, raising over $500,000 to provide mammograms for uninsured black women. Kim's impactful journey has garnered media attention on platforms such as BET, Ebony, Black Enterprise, ESSENCE, Byrdie, and Business Insider. A CBS interview with Gayle King on International Women's Day highlighted her game-changing contributions.

Nasa Clip

Dr. Elizabeth Clayborne is an Emergency Physician faculty member at the University of Maryland School of Medicine with an academic focus on ethics, health policy and innovation/entrepreneurship. She developed a novel nosebleed device, NasaClip, as a resident and was awarded the NSF I-Corps grant which helped to launch her company. Dr. Clayborne has raised over $3.5M in funding and was awarded a NSF SBIR Phase I grant for $256K to assist with the development of her device. NasaClip launched the Class I version of the device into the market in late 2023 on NasaClip.com. Dr. Clayborne has been featured on several national interviews on networks such as CNN, MSNBC, CBSN and TEDx discussing COVID-19 and health equity and ethics issues. Dr. Gaspard is the CEO and founder of Rubitection, a health tech startup whose assessment and care management platform support for chronic wounds and dermatological conditions can help improve patient outcomes and reduce costs. As CEO she overseas business strategy, partnership development, fundraising, product development, and marketing. Her vision is to make Rubitection’s solution globally available to empower anyone to assess and manage chronic skin condition to personalize care. Her accolades include 2022 Richard King Mellon Foundations Social Impact Award, 2021 Culture Shift Labs Innovation Competition, and ’19 AnitaB PitcHer winner, and ’19 Vinetta Project winner. She has a PhD in Biomedical Engineering with a specialization in medical device development from Carnegie Mellon University.

Dr. Lonna Hardin is a globally recognized singer, acclaimed author, speaker, and social impact founder with a background in special education, business, technology, and youth development. She created a nationally recognized afterschool program focused on literacy and social emotional learning for K-10th grade diverse learners and developed 16 partnerships across the US. Early in her tech career, Dr. Hardin was asked to join the Uber Everywhere team which helped the company scale from 6 to 354 markets. Shortly after, she recruited to consulte three additional Silicon Valley startups which each turned into billion dollar ventures. Dr. Hardin passionate advocates for students with disabilities, access to quality education, as well as closing both the achievement and opportunity gap. Dr. Hardin was the parent of a child with special learning needs given an IEP at age 3. As a result of advocacy, her own parent involvement, staying engaged, and ensuring enforcement, her child's academic journey was a success story. In June of 2024, Dr. Hardin's daughter graduated summa cum laude with a GPA of 4.0 and in the top 14% of her peers for reading and math. Dr. Hardin is a testament to what can happen when parents and educators copartner to ensure students get what they need and improve student outcomes.
