Get Ready for Small Business Saturday on November 27
Whether you have an online business or a brick-and-mortar location, you’ll want to stand out on Small Business Saturday!
A few tips:
Spread the Word Feature Small Business Saturday posts on your social media channels to remind everyone that you are a locally-owned business and to think of you when they are doing their holiday shopping. Relay reasons why/ how your products or gift cards are ideal holiday gifts.
Tip: Be sure to use Small Business Saturday related hashtags in social media posts such as #shoplocal #shopsmall #smallbusinesssaturday #shopsmallbusinessaturday #shop #holiday #blackfriday #supportsmallbusiness.
Additional ways to get the word out: Send emails to contacts in your database, run a Facebook Ad campaign, and post a flyer in your window to raise awareness for any events or specials you are offering. Are you a Chamber member? Ask to be included in their member communications.
Offer an Incentive
Include a bundle offer where you package items or services and at a discounted rate. Or add a small, free item with a purchase. For example, if a customer purchases a 60-minute massage therapy session, offer a free sample of massage oil. Offer a $5 coupon for anyone who visits your location or makes an online purchase that day.
Host an Event
Feature special discounts, food/beverages, samples or other incentives for customers to stop by your location. You can feature your event as an ‘open house’ or Small Business Saturday Celebration or Sidewalk Sale. Be sure to follow any local Covid-19 guidelines.
Want to host a virtual event? Set up a social media livestream event on Facebook or other platform and share any business updates, new products/services and offer a live Q&A session where guests may post questions in the chat feature. It’s a fun way to connect with your audience.
A Contest or Prize Drawing
Hold an online and in-person prize drawing. Customers may fill out a short form with their name, cell number and email address which is folded and placed in a basket for the drawing. For an online version, individuals may ‘enter’ to win online by liking or commenting your post. You may randomly select a lucky winner.
Claim Your Business Listing
If you haven’t ‘claimed’ your business listing on major review sites such as Yelp, Google, Facebook, etc. now is the time! 88% of customers trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations.
We wish you a successful Small Business Saturday!
